CREOLE BUS TOUR AND DIP IN THE SEA

Description

St. George, Grenada's capital, with its marvellous views and ancient forts, is nestled within a labyrinth of roads and alleys. To see everything, we need hours... and a strong pair of legs! On-board typical Creole buses, the journey is a surprise... a colourful one!

What we will see

• Excursion on a typical Creole bus
• St. George, Fort Feorge, Fort Frederick
• Morne Rouge, relaxation on beach, swimming

What we will do

• The 'Woodies', brightly coloured Creole buses with wood benches of English origin, were the first large vehicles to be introduced onto the island in the 50s. Superseded by modern modes of transport, they were rediscovered to be the best means to discover and savour the elegance of Grenada of times gone by.
• Our 'Woodie' allows us to discover the most authentic Grenada, from the verdant hills to the cheerfulness of inhabitants, whom, just as they did as children, wave to buses when they pass by.
• After briefly stopping twice at Fort George and Fort Frederick to admire the view, we will head towards the beach of Morne Rouge along the south coast, from where we can enjoy a magnificent view of the islands of Hog and Calivigny.
• Once we arrive on the beach, we will have time for a dip in the Caribbean Sea and to enjoy a rum punch or fruit juice.

What you need to know

• We recommend that you book early because only a limited number of places are available.
• There is limited availability of English speaking guides.
• This excursion is not recommended for guests with mobility problems as we will be climbing stairs at Fort George and Fort Frederick.
