The programme
  • “Kalo̱sórisma” or welcome to this guided tour of Athens, including all the iconic sights of the Greek capital.
  • Leaving the port of Zea, known as Pasalimani, you'll soon come to the Acropolis: the Athenian “high city” built in the 5th century BC. You'll immediately see the Parthenon: the temple of Athena that dominates the whole site.
  • The “Kallimarmaron Panathinaiko” is the “beautiful marble stadium of all Athenians”. With a name that's worthy of a record in itself, it is the only one in the world to be made entirely of white marble.
  • In downtown Athens you'll see the University, the National Library, the National Academy and Syntagma Square with the Greek Parliament and the tomb of the unknown soldier: where you can stay and reflect for a moment.
  • Following this is a tour around Plaka, the ancient district that grew up around the Ancient Agora, and then it's back on the bus to Mikrolimano, the “small port” where a taste of Greek cuisine awaits, along with a traditional show of sirtaki dance.
  • Orange-flavored loukanika sausage, dolmades, or stuffed vine leaves, tiropitakia with cheese and psomi, the Greek rustic bread, are just some of the specialties you'll taste. All that remains is to wish you “Kalí̱ órexi̱”: enjoy your meal!
