Description The fairy-tale enchantment of the Nordfjord on a walk among legends, traditions and nature. This excursion takes place along the transhumance routes and in the woods that gave birth to the legends of the Huldras, sensual creatures capable of influencing the destiny of men either positively or negatively. Among majestic pine trees, romantic lakes and breathtaking views, this is a unique occasion to venture into the surroundings of Nordfjordeid and discover its unspoilt nature.

What we will see
  • Majestic mountains, pine forests and small farms
  • Swimming area near the Osvika farm
  • Transhumance routes around Nordfjordeid
  • Osberget and its magnificent viewpoint

What we will do
  • We leave the port behind us to set out on a fantastic walk to discover the majestic nature surrounding the city of Nordfjordeid. We start with the swimming area near Osvika*, a farm in the Møre og Romsdal county that is the start of the trail that leads us to discover the magnificent nature of the Nordfjord.
  • We proceed along the itinerary marked by tractors on the left of the crops as far as a red barn.
  • From here, we continue our scenic tour with a steep slope reaching up to 512 metres above sea level.
  • In order to reach Osberget, we relive a tradition dating back hundreds of years as we follow the tracks of cows and sheep migrating to the mountain peaks in the summer months.
  • In Osberget, we cannot but remain enchanted by the breathtaking panorama.
  • After crossing a majestic pine forest, we cross the river in the immediate proximity of a mountain farm.
  • This charming retreat, originally used in summer, overlooks an idyllic lake the sight of which is a well-appreciated reward for our efforts. It is impossible not to give in to the temptation of capturing the fairy-tale atmosphere on camera.
  • And why not grab the opportunity to go for a dip? Maybe naked, like true Vikings!
  • Newly refreshed, we get ready to end our adventure and keep our eyes peeled so as not to be caught unprepared by a huldra, a legendary forest creature no one can resist.
  • Satisfied by our pleasant walk, we bid farewell to the Nordfjord to return to the ship.
