Description A journey through the charming town of Basseterre takes us to a picturesque location: a green strip of  land stretching between the ocean and the Caribbean Sea, with a festive setting made of eccentric bars and lively restaurants overlooking the sea.

What we will see
  • Basseterre panoramic tour
  • Stop at the volcanic beach of 'The Strip'
  • Colorful bars, exquisite restaurants

What we will do
  • We start our excursion with a sightseeing tour of Basseterre, capital of the island of St. Kitts founded by the French in 1627 and oldest city of the eastern Caribbean where it is still possible to see the well-kept heritage of the French and British colonisation.
  • Along the way, a guide illustrates the itinerary as we admire the Berkeley Memorial, a Victorian iron fountain clock that has become a symbol of the city, and Independence Square, a large garden-square surrounded by elegant Georgian buildings that used to serve as a slave market.
  • We pass by the Co-Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, an imposing grey stone building flanked by two towers with a large rose window at the centre.
  • We get out of the city and reach Frigate Bay, an isthmus separating the white-crested waves of the Atlantic Ocean from the calm waters of the Caribbean Sea.
  • Our destination is the popular area known as “The Strip”, a stretch of golden sand dotted with eccentric bars and restaurants where we can satisfy all kinds of culinary needs as we try some local specialities or sip a drink.
  • We have some time available to lounge on the beach: we can go for a swim or snorkel hiring the equipment on-site or rest on a hired lounger as we take in the lively atmosphere and breathtaking landscape.
