When reality surpasses imagination: the region of the Trossachs - found nestling in the breathtaking setting of charming mountains, beautiful yet mysterious lakes and endless moors - welcomes us with its incredible scenery made up of old towns between a fabulous Medieval castle and a village where time seems to have stopped.

The programme

• We leave the port behind us and set off on a panoramic tour of the Trossachs, a spectacular mountain range with irregular peaks, a valley with a magical atmosphere and moorland stretches known as the “miniature Highlands”.
• We stop by the charming town of Stirling, located in the heart of Scotland and boasting a long fascinating past under the Scottish sovereigns. It was also the protagonist of some of the main events in the region’s history including epic battles, heroic gestures and bloody massacres.
• We visit the beautiful Stirling castle perched of a cliff overlooking the valley. It is one of the largest and most imposing in Scotland offering spectacular views over the entire surroundings.
• We continue our journey through the Trossachs as far as Loch Venachar, where dark wooded areas frame the shady banks of the lake reflecting the clouds and mountain peaks creating an irresistibly charming atmosphere.
• We stop in the lovely town of Aberfoyle, exit gate of the Trossachs with the imposing Ben Venue in the background. Here, we have some free time to go for a stroll and eat something before restarting our tour.
• We make our way back to Edinburgh and cross Forth Bridge parallel to the more famous railway bridge, a true masterpiece of Victorian engineering declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
• Our last stop is the village of Culross where everything has remained more or less unvaried since the 16th and 17th centuries with narrow cobbled streets, a lovely central square and fantastic white-washed houses.
• After this journey into Scotland’s past, the time has come to return to the ship.
