  • Baptistry of Saint John
  • Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio, Palazzo Fenzi, Loggia dei Lanzi
  • Ponte Vecchio
  • Piazza Santa Croce and Basilica

What we will do
  • Setting off by coach from the port of Livorno we head for Florence, which became the capital of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany under the Medici family, confirming its position as an economic power of great artistic, cultural and political energy.
  • Having arrived, our local guide will lead us on a panoramic coach tour to Piazzale Michelangelo, which is dedicated to the artist of the same name. The square is home to several reproductions of his famous artworks, including a copy of his masterpiece David. From here we can enjoy a magnificent view of Florence, a city of contrasts: from this lofty vantage point, we see the city surrounded by the countryside, yet we are just a stone's throw from a fascinating urban world.
  • We then head to the old city centre and the start of a journey through history.
  • Walking through the streets of the centre, the city's beauty becomes overwhelming, particularly in front of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, flanked by Giotto's famous bell tower.
  • In the surrounding area we can admire the Baptistry of Saint John, a typical Florentine Romanesque construction covered in precious white and green marble.
  • Our itinerary continues to the lively Piazza della Signoria which has always served as a meeting place for the citizens of Florence. It is one of the most beautiful locations in Tuscany thanks to its magnificent monuments from every era and its historic buildings, from the imposing Palazzo Vecchio to Palazzo Fenzi and the Loggia dei Lanzi.
  • And having arrived at the Ponte Vecchio, a photo is practically obligatory.
  • After lunch we continue on foot to Piazza Santa Croce to admire the Basilica of the same name. It houses the funerary monument of the poet Ugo Foscolo, whose work "Dei Sepolcri" praised the splendour of the Basilica, the temple that houses the glories of Italy, "l'Itale glorie".
  • Before we return to Livorno, we can make the most of a little free time, taking photos of the city's priceless artistic treasures, or shopping for an exclusive slice of "Made in Italy".
