In a nutshell

You decide the route, timetable and stops along the way: Florence can all be visited on foot and works by the great artists such as Brunelleschi, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Leonardo da Vinci await you around very corner. Retrace the Renaissance from Piazza Duomo to Piazza Santa Croce, from Ponte Vecchio, the most indestructible bridge in the city, to ancient traditional flavors.

Main stops
  • Piazza Duomo, the church of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Baptistry of San Giovanni, Giotto's Bell Tower
  • Piazza della Signoria
  • Ponte Vecchio
  • Piazza Santa Croce and Basilica

The programme
  • A whole day in Florence, cradle of the Renaissance and the ultimate “city on a human scale”. What does this mean? That you can visit it all on foot and just as you prefer, from the UNESCO World Heritage old town to the typical trattorias and craft shops.
  • The city is like an open air museum so keep your eyes peeled for works by geniuses such as Brunelleschi, Donatello, Masaccio, Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci. In Piazza Duomo, observe the three doors of the Baptistry, the famous dome of Santa Maria del Fiore and the Giotto bell tower, the most panoramic in the city.
  • From Piazza della Signoria you'll soon reach the Ponte Vecchio, WHERE DELICATE GOLD ITEMS ARE ON SALE, that sells delicate golden jewelry but THE BRIDGE ITSELF is a really REAL tough nut: it is the only bridge in the city left unscathed by both World War II and the flood of 1966. Keep going to Piazza Santa Croce to see the marble façade of the Basilica.
  • After getting your fill of art, think about your stomach: lampredotto, a tripe-filled roll, is the traditional Florentine “fast food”, while zuccotto is the dessert created for Queen Catherine de’ Medici. You can't not try them.
